Denise Wilson and Ian Wilson established Id Planning in 2000 building on their respective careers across the private sector and government to offer a personal service to clients.

Id Planning partners with industry practitioners to provide experienced, capable teams on an as needs basis determined by our client’s particular needs.

Denise Wilson

Communications Director
Denise has built Id Planning into the consulting firm which Australia’s major infrastructure industry turns to when they need a partner who strengthens relationships, provides advice and support, and delivers results on the ground.

Over the past 25 years Denise has designed and delivered many successful communications and engagement programs, plans and strategies and is highly sought after by government departments and contractors as a trusted advisor to lead community and stakeholder engagement across their projects.

Denise is known for her strategic nous and navigational skills working in the often sensitive middle-ground between project partners, politicians, the media and the local community.

As an in-demand independent mediator for projects including Transport for NSW, Sydney Metro, WestConnex, Legacy Way, and Westlink M7, she is recognised for her ability to resolve disputes and negotiate appropriate solutions for contentious issues on complex projects. Denise has been successful in negotiating issues to create better outcomes for all parties including state government agencies.

Denise’s qualifications include Family Dispute Resolution Graduate Diploma 2021, Diploma of Mediation College of Law 2019, Practical Legal Training Dip College of Law, 2012, Diploma of Law, Sydney University, 1997 and Bachelor Town Planning (Hons), University of NSW, 1988.

She is also an accredited Local Government Planning and Development Mediator, a member of IAP2, an Associate Member, Law Society NSW and a Corporate Member, Planning Institute Australia, and a Corporate Member of the Australian Mediation Association.

Ian Wilson

Director
With more than 25 years’ experience in design and community engagement and communications across major infrastructure projects in New South Wales, Ian’s key skills and capabilities lie in establishing and maintaining clear and open communication channels, strategic communications planning, exceptional written communication skills, community engagement and project management. Ian has worked across major infrastructure sectors including roads, water and rail.

With significant experience working across major government departments and organisations including Transport for NSW (and the former Roads and Maritime Services), Sydney Trains and Sydney Water. Ian helps government clients identify and articulate the big picture benefits of a project for the community over the long-term, and ensures project teams successfully identify and engage with all sectors of the community in an ongoing manner.

Ian is a skilled project and team manager, an experienced Personal Manager – Property Acquisitions, has high-level expertise in Salesforce and Consultation Manager and is recognised for his facilitation, negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

Ian’s holds the IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation, a Master of Interior Design from UTS, and a Certificate of Architectural Drafting from St George College of TAFE.

Chris Peat

Sydney Lead & Associate
With extensive experience leading and delivering stakeholder and community engagement across some of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects, Chris is highly valued as a trusted advisor by clients.

Chris has developed and implemented communication strategies during the development, EIS and concept design and delivery phases of major infrastructure projects, managed key stakeholder and community relationships during operational and crisis phases and has extensive experience in marketing and branding including the development of digital tools. Chris is valued for his facilitation and negotiation skills and for mentoring high performing teams.

Chris has acted as Strategic Communications lead and managed community and stakeholder engagement teams for both construction contractors and a range of Government agencies including Transport for NSW, Sydney Metro West. Roads and Maritime Services, Sydney Trains, Sydney Water and VicRoads & Level Crossing Removal Authority.

Chris is results driven with high level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to navigate relationships and build rapport with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Jonathan Rumore

Community Engagement Manager
Jonathan is a stakeholder engagement and communications professional with industry experience in government, construction and client relationship management. He is known for his excellent organisational skills and adept ability to build strong relationships.

Jonathan is currently working for Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport acting as both Community Place Manager and Personal Manager (acquisitions), Jonathan is responsible for managing planning, drafting and delivery of communications materials for early works packages including geotechnical work, site investigations and utilities. His role as a Personal Manager involves supporting property owners and tenants navigate the Sydney Metro acquisition process as the first point of communication between stakeholder and project.

His experience includes the development of communication and engagement material, execution of digital campaigns, community liaison, and working with key internal stakeholders to address and resolve issues faced by stakeholders. Jonathan has also provided communications and engagement support on high-profile government projects WestConnex M4-M5 Link Tunnels, Transport for NSW – Western Sydney Corridor Preservation and on planning for the M12 Motorway.

Jonathan works efficiently under pressure, communicates well with team members and helps deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.

Emma Brindley-Hawke

Strategic Advisor
Emma has an extensive background in providing strategic advice to Executive levels of government in Federal, State, and local government.

Emma has over 20 years of experience in corporate and organisational positioning, strategic communications, media, project management, public affairs, and reputation management. She has a proven record and ability to lead and translate business and project objectives into clear and concise communication and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Emma has served as a senior ministerial adviser to Ministers and Members of Parliament in both a State and Federal capacity. She has a sound ability to deliver high quality campaigns and events.

Growing up in South- West Sydney Emma has a passion for the area and connecting with communities as a conduit of information to drive change and community impact. She has solid experience working with CALD and ATSI communities to deliver best practice outcomes and ongoing relationships built on authentic and grassroots engagement strategy.
